Melissa McLaughlin
Melissa has been a part of the Dekalb County community for nearly 27 years. She and her husband, John, reside in the city of Auburn where Melissa has owned and operated a CPA firm for the last 19 years. McLaughlin Tax, Accounting and Management Advisory Services, LLC serves closely held businesses, their owners, and individual tax clients in the Northeast Indiana region. Melissa graduated from the University of Maryland with a business degree and is licensed through the state of Indiana as a Certified Public Accountant. She has been in public accounting for more than 30 years. John is a former school teacher who is retired from Fort Wayne Community Schools. He works part time in the accounting business.
Melissa and John have four children, their spouses, and twelve grandchildren scattered about the area. It seems that there is always some family event to attend, whether it is a Purdue Women’s basketball game where college freshman, Karissa McLaughlin is playing at point guard, or a soccer “game” with four-year old Asher near South Bend. They enjoy time spent with Melissa’s parents, Bill and Ellie Arnold, who are also Purdue fans.
Melissa and John are members of the Auburn First United Methodist Church where John sings in the choir. Both have volunteered in the church in various capacities across the years. Melissa has previously served as President of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Auburn Plan Commission. In the 1990’s, Melissa was a member of the Sertoma club in Fort Wayne where she would volunteer as a black jack dealer for the club’s casino fundraising events for hearing health issues.
Melissa’s hobbies include reading and traveling. Favorite days include spending time in the sun, sand, and water and being with family.
