Community Foundation DeKalb County Announces Give Where You Live DeKalb
Give Where You Live DeKalb returns May 4–8, 2026, marking the Community Foundation DeKalb County’s fourth annual spring fundraiser. This year’s campaign will help the Foundation raise dollars to support its participation in Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow initiative (GIFT IX), which provides a 2:1 match for gifts to unrestricted funds.
The Community Foundation is raising funds for its Community Grantmaking Endowment Fund, the Foundation’s largest unrestricted fund. This fund supports the Foundation’s general community grantmaking that benefits nonprofit and charitable organizations serving DeKalb County.
Through GIFT IX, every dollar donated to the Community Grantmaking Endowment Fund will be matched with two additional dollars from Lilly Endowment, tripling the impact of each gift until the Foundation reaches its goal.
“Every gift to the Community Grantmaking Endowment Fund strengthens our ability to support programs and projects across DeKalb County,” said Tanya Young, Executive Director. “With each donation being tripled, donors can make an even greater impact in the community.”
Gifts of all sizes make a difference. Donations can be made in person Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Foundation office, 700 S. Main Street, Auburn, IN 46706; online at cfdekalb.org; or by mail to P.O. Box 111, Auburn, IN 46706.
About Lilly Endowment
Lilly Endowment Inc. is an Indianapolis-based, private foundation created in 1937 by J.K. Lilly and his sons, Eli and J.K. Jr., through gifts of stock in their pharmaceutical business, Eli Lilly and Company. While those gifts remain the financial bedrock of the Endowment, the Endowment is a separate entity from the company, with a distinct governing board, staff and location. Although the Endowment maintains a special commitment to its founders’ hometown, Indianapolis, and home state, Indiana, it also funds programs throughout the United States, especially in the field of religion.
