Community Foundation Scholarship Applications Now Open

Community Foundation DeKalb County is pleased to announce that scholarship applications are now open for the upcoming academic year. Thanks to the generosity of local donors and the support of volunteer reviewers, these scholarships help ease the financial burden of tuition and other qualified education expenses for DeKalb County students pursuing post-secondary education.

Each year, the Community Foundation awards more than $200,000 in scholarships. Most scholarships support full-time undergraduate study toward a bachelor’s degree for current-year high school graduates, with a limited number of awards available for students pursuing an associate or technical degree. Scholarship criteria vary by fund and may include academic achievement, community involvement, work experience, financial need, and an essay.

Students complete one application to be considered for a wide range of scholarship opportunities administered by the Community Foundation. Some scholarships are offered in partnership with other community organizations, with criteria established by donors or sponsoring groups.

The application deadline is January 31. Students are encouraged to begin early and allow time to gather required materials and complete the application carefully.
