The Community Grantmaking Fund
Established by the Community Foundation to address today’s needs and prepare for tomorrow’s challenges
Grants
The gifts of many generous people allow the Community Foundation to award grants to nonprofit organizations for charitable projects and programs that address today’s needs and prepare for tomorrow’s challenges.
These grants are focused on meeting the needs of the people in DeKalb County, Indiana. Grants are awarded based on the charitable objectives of the donors who established the funds.
The Community Foundation awards grants from several funds through a competitive process. Applicants submit grant proposals through the secured online grants portal, and the Foundation will consider funding from one or more of these funds.
While submissions are accepted at any time, grants are awarded quarterly. The grant committee reviews all submissions and makes a recommendation to the board of directors based upon funding availability and other grant criteria. Please plan accordingly to best fit your requested needs.
The Foundation accepts proposals from organizations that are located in or do work in DeKalb County, Indiana. If you have never submitted a grant before, have questions about your grant proposal, or are unsure how much to ask for, we encourage you to reach out to the Foundation, and we will be happy to discuss your grant proposal with you.
