Community Foundation Awards $46,000 in Grants

The Community Foundation of DeKalb County is pleased to announce its most recent Community Grantmaking recipients. The grants funded demonstrate the Foundation’s commitment to nonprofits that provide substantial benefits for the county and its residents. Nine organizations received grants totaling $46,000 in funding.

Grants Awarded:

  • DeKalb County Council on Aging Inc. — $6,000 for Supporting Independence: Chair Replacement at the Heimach Senior Activity Center.
  • Eckhart Public Library — $1,500 for Learning Through Play at the Library.
  • City of Garrett — $5,000 to support its Feick Park Trail Project.
  • Joe Lions Club, Inc. — $5,000 to purchase and equip a food trailer.
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, Inc. — $3,000 for Site-Based Youth Program Support.
  • YWCA Northeast Indiana — $7,500 for Prevention and Services for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault in DeKalb County.
  • Ashley-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department — $7,500 for Personal Protective Equipment for Firefighters.
  • National Automotive and Truck Museum of the United States Inc. — $7,500 for Capacity Building Support.
  • Hope’s Harbor — $3,000 to support its Hospitality Program for DeKalb County Families.
