Voices of Philanthropy Supports the DeKalb County Hunger Relief Fund
AUBURN — The youth leaders of Voices of Philanthropy have announced that $3,678.84 has been directed to the DeKalb County Hunger Rapid Relief Fund.
This is part of the wider DeKalb County Hunger Relief Response, which strengthens local efforts to support families and children facing urgent food insecurity across DeKalb County.
A youth-led initiative of the Community Foundation DeKalb County, Voices of Philanthropy brings high school students together to learn about charitable giving, understand local needs, and make thoughtful decisions about how to support the community they call home. Their support comes at a time when the need for food assistance is rising quickly.
The DeKalb County Hunger Relief Response initiative was created by Fortify Life, United Way of DeKalb County, and the Community Foundation DeKalb County to coordinate community-wide efforts and make sure food reaches people when and where its needed. This initiative brings local partners and community members together, keeps pantry information updated, and ensures support reaches local pantries and distribution sites.
“Voices of Philanthropy recognizes the need for the DeKalb County Hunger Rapid Relief Fund. We want to do our part, even at a young age, to support our community in this difficult time and directing funds to this effort is just one way that we can do that,” shared Abby Thomas, President of Voices of Philanthropy.
By supporting the Hunger Relief Fund, Voices of Philanthropy continues to demonstrate the power of youth working together for the good of the community.
