Sue Randa
A resident of DeKalb County since her early teens and a graduate of DeKalb High School, Sue returned to Auburn after college. She earned a BS in education from Ball State University and became an educator for DeKalb Central Schools. Sue received an MS in education from Indiana University and was involved with several education organizations during her working years.
Sue has always seen Auburn as a warm, welcoming community and has wanted to be a part of it. She was a member of Psi Iota Xi, holding multiple offices in the organization over the years.
Currently retired, she stays involved in education by volunteering at J.R. Watson, also evaluating scholarship applications for the Community Foundation. She has been on the Foundation’s grant committee since 2015. Sue says, “It has been interesting learning more about DeKalb County and a blessing to be able to give a boost to organizations with grant money, while at the same time assisting the community through them. I was also pleased to start a fund with the Community Foundation of DeKalb County to honor and remember my parents.”
Sue’s creative outlet is quilting, and she belongs to a quilt guild. She hopes to get back to gathering and traveling with friends.
